Goddess Grooves is a showcase and a celebration of some of our community's finest female singer/songwriter musicians brought together in one evening of scintillating entertainment. This year these musical dykes are collaborating on an acoustic jam; playing originals and covers; and joining together to play, and sing each other's music - and to have a shit-load of fun. Prepare to be impressed by Michelle Parson's gutsy and passionate originals, and her renditions of popular covers. Be entertained by Rosie Burgess' vibrant tunes and gorgeous spirit. Be captivated by Emma Wall's urban guitar and fun stage presence, and enjoy Lara Travis' weird and pretty songs and enjoy her poignant lyrics. Along with their guests they will present a brilliant night's entertainment. Expect spontaneous harmonies, hilarity and some awesome music at one of Melbourne's most vibrant live music venues - The Spotted Mallard - with great meals available - though bookings are essential. This night has something for everyone - don't miss it!

MORELAND CITY SOUL REVUE
SUNDAY 2ND FEBRUARY
2 X SETS FROM 4:30PM
FREE ENTRY
"Keeping Moreland sweet” The Moreland City Soul Review (MCSR) was conceived when founding members Jed Pickett (guitar) and Adrian Whitehead (hammond organ) attended a protest rally at Trades Hall, and had the sudden realisation that the way to reach the masses was not through marching, but music. Applying the maxim ‘charity begins at home’ to protest, they investigated the local council, and discovered that they “needn’t worry about Moreland City, they know what they’re doing.” Using this for inspiration, they started the search for other musicians who would share their passion for accountability at all levels of government, similar to that they had found in their local area. Their first port of call was the brothers Keegan, Tim (bass) and Andy (drums), who were quick to jump on board. They enlisted Damian Slingsby (electric piano). These three newcomers were excited about the potential of this group in promoting the community spirit that their council embodies. What started out as a protest band, a vehicle to voice their concerns with the global political climate, took an interesting twist when they approached former Pornland frontman and vocalist Slatty D, who pointed out “The people don’t want to hear about our disillusionment with the inadequacies of government, local or otherwise. What they really need is soul.” The MCSR was born! MORELAND CITY SOUL REVIEW

THE WIKIMEN
Sunday 16th February
Matinee performance from 4:30pm
FREE ENTRY
The Wikimen have played forever and a day since 1908. Mostly at kindergartens and Art Gallerys in Melbourne , Oz. Throughout their daily toils and tribulations they always find a time to sting up the Double bass and polish the vibraphone for a new sonic adventure in the realms of early 20th century pop jazz. The line up these days is as reads above, with the occasional addition of some of our favorite people , including the singing talents of young blues songbird Stephanie Brett and the inimitabubble exoticness of Emma Bathgate. When the band is really cooking you can bet they have the help of those hard to keep up with Brassy siblings, The Jones' , Declan and Ros.
