Melbourne based singer and songwriter Jimmy Tait takes listeners on a journey of heartache and hope. With the silence and space of her country past to the bedlam and noise of the city she now resides, Jimmy Tait delivers a distinctive twist of Australian Gothic.

Since 2007 working under the name Jimmy Tait (a homage to her late grandfather Mr James Tait) Sara Retallick has earned a steadily growing fan base. Her songs are dynamic and affecting, as much about atmosphere as they are melody. Whilst drawing influences from Melbourne’s thriving music scene, Jimmy Tait plays music with a distinctive mash of slowcore sparseness, Lynch-esque dramatics and Orbison inspired melodies which can’t be pinned to one specific genre.

Jimmy Tait has toured Europe (2009, 2011 + 2013), played support for the likes of The Gin Club, Teeth & Tongue and Bob Evans, and has been guest vocalist/musician for top Australian artists including Glenn Richards (Augie March), Lisa Gerrard and Graveyard Train.

Jimmy Tait has recently released their 2nd studio album through SPUNK.

Gaining a solid reputation for her strong yet delicate voice, innovative songwriting and powerful live performances, Jimmy Tait is a young musician with an exciting future.
